Registrations have been opened and the 2015 program highlights released as preparations for one of the Territory’s premier events for the minerals and petroleum sector, the Annual Geoscience Exploration Seminar (AGES), gets underway.
AGES will be held on 17-18 March at the Alice Springs Convention Centre and has already secured a strong program of technical Government and industry presentations that offer insights into the Territory’s resource potential.
Executive Director of the Northern Territory Geological Survey (NTGS), Dr Ian Scrimgeour said the annual seminar will highlight outstanding opportunities for explorers in the Northern Territory and the line-up of invited presenters this year will provide new geoscience information and results, much of which will be made public for the first time.
"Participants are able to access the latest geoscientific data and exploration results and have the opportunity to network with delegates attending from all over Australia,” he said.
"The event is particularly useful for companies that are looking to get an understanding of the Territory's minerals and oil and gas potential, current exploration activity and new exploration opportunities.
“As well as presentations by NTGS, Geoscience Australia and CSIRO on new research on the Territory’s resource potential, we also have a diverse range of industry speakers from companies such as Santos, Rox Resources, Pangaea Resources, KGL Resources and more, on recent exploration highlights and new exploration concepts.
“Mining and energy are key industries for the Territory economy with the future of these industries dependent on a healthy exploration sector.”
Dr Scrimgeour encouraged interested parties to register now for the conference.
“This seminar will release new data and information from the Territory’s expanded Creating Opportunities for Resource Exploration (CORE) initiative, including major new programs to assess the Territory's resource potential,” Dr Scrimgeour said.
