On 28 January 2015 the Northern Territory Valuer General posted out new valuation notices to land owners of Darwin and Palmerston.

A system error caused the 2011 (existing) valuation to be included in the notice rather than the new 2014 valuation.

This error was detected before all of the notices were mailed, however some land owners have received incorrect notices.

To rectify, a new valuation notice will be issued to ALL land owners of Darwin and Palmerston.  Land owners are asked to please dispose of the notice issued on 28th January 2015.

The system is currently being reprogrammed which may take up to two weeks.  The correct notice will then be mailed to land owners.

The 30-day objection period will commence from the date of receipt of the new valuation notices.

Both Darwin and Palmerston Councils have been issued with the correct data in order to prepare rates notices.

The Valuer General regrets any inconvenience caused to land owners.
