BUSHFIRES NT MESSAGE: ADVICE

LOCATION: Alcoota Station, HARTS RANGE

ALERT LEVEL: Advice - A fire continues in the area. Monitor the situation for changes.

FIRE TYPE: Bushfire. INFORMATION CURRENT AS AT: 27/10/2023 10:00 hours.

STATUS: GOING - A fire is spreading on one or more fronts. Effective containment strategies are not in place for the entire perimeter.

RISKS FACED BY PEOPLE IN THE AREA: Smoke from this fire may affect visibility. Active fire may occur close to the roadside. Firefighting crews may be working close to the roadside. A bushfire is running or contained under very high to extreme weather conditions.

WHAT TO DO: Prepare your property now. Conditions may change. Monitor conditions in your area. Stay informed until threat is reduced.

ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC: A large landscape fire that began at Alcoota, before moving through Bushy Park, is heading in a north westerly direction towards the Stuart Highway.

The fire, currently 30km ESE of Ti Tree (in the vicinity of Mount Solitary), is anticipated to impact Ti Tree by midday today and may impact Ileparatye, Pmara Jutunta and Nturiya communities in the next 24-36 hours. Communities are urged to make preparations to protect their homes now.

Schools at Ti Tree and Stirling are closed today.
