BUSHFIRES NT MESSAGE: FIRE BAN ADVICE – 12 SEPTEMBER 2024

The Executive Director, Bushfires NT and Commissioner, Northern Territory Fire and Emergency Services have declared a 24-HOUR FIRE BAN PERIOD for Thursday 12 September 2024 for the following areas:

The DARWIN AND ADELAIDE RIVER, SIMPSON EAST AND WEST, LASSETER EAST AND WEST, TANAMI SOUTH and BARKLY SOUTH FIRE WEATHER FORECAST AREAS.

This includes the Darwin, Batchelor, Adelaide River, Tennant Creek and Yulara Emergency Response Areas, Litchfield Municipality and Coomalie Shire, Kulgera, Papunya, Hermannsburg, Yuendumu and Ali Curung.

The Fire Ban is declared for a 24-hour period commencing at 0000 hours on Thursday 12 September 2024.

No person shall light a fire or cause a fire to be lit in the open in the portion of the Northern Territory within the fire ban areas.

The Fire Ban is valid from midnight to midnight.

Issued at 1600 hours CST on Wednesday 11 September 2024.
